How to Apply for Medical Coding Scholarships & Grants in Utah

Step by Step Instructions for Utah Candidates

Utah recognizes Coding Clarified as an approved training provider through a reciprocal agreement with the state of Idaho. Follow the steps below in order. Read each step carefully before moving to the next.

Part 1: Apply for WIOA Grant Funding

  1. Go to the Utah DWS Office Search: Utah Office Search
  2. If you do not have an account, click My Job Search under Sign In, select Create an Account, and complete the steps.
  3. Once your account is created, find your closest workforce office: Utah Workforce Regions (PDF)
  4. Contact the closest location and request an eligibility screening. Advise your caseworker that Coding Clarified is an approved training provider on the Idaho Eligible Training Provider List and Utah has a reciprocal agreement with Idaho: UT-ID Reciprocal Agreement
    IMPORTANT: Write down your assigned caseworker's full name and email address. You will need this information for the next step. If you do not have a caseworker yet, that is okay. Complete the form without the caseworker information and we will update it at a later date by sending you a Proposal Update form.
  5. Complete the Proposal & Acceptance form in its entirety at the link below. This form generates the Proposal & Acceptance Letter that must be submitted to your caseworker:

    NOTE: Your program start date must be at least two weeks from today's date. Do not submit the form with missing information. Incomplete forms prolong the process and require you to resubmit a new completed form.
  6. Provide your caseworker with CIP Code 51.0713 upon request.

Part 2: Verify Coding Clarified Through Idaho Reciprocity

Use these steps to verify that Coding Clarified is an approved training provider for your state. Your caseworker may also use these steps.

  1. Go to IdahoWorks: https://idahoworks.gov
  2. Type Coding Clarified in the Keyword(s) box, then click Search.
  3. Click Coding Clarified in the results, or view our listing directly: Coding Clarified IdahoWorks Listing

The program is instructor-led, so the time it takes depends on your schedule and learning speed. Most students finish the 80-hour course in around four months, although some finish in as little as two months. You have a year to complete the program once you’re enrolled.
Is the Coding Clarified program certified?
Our curriculum is certified by the AAPC, the same people that run the certification exam. You can be sure you’ll be getting the right education to get certified.
