- Reasonable Accommodations:
- Participants requiring reasonable accommodations to access services or participate in training will be provided with such accommodations upon request. Requests for accommodations must be made at least 72 hours in advance of any training or event.
- Non-Discrimination in Recruitment:
- Coding Clarified will ensure that recruitment practices are designed to reach a diverse population and that no individual is excluded or discriminated against in the application or enrollment process based on their protected status.

- Coding Clarified will continuously monitor the effectiveness of its non-discrimination practices and take corrective action if needed to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Complaints will be addressed promptly, and if necessary, further escalation can be made to the appropriate state or federal authorities.

- Technical Support and System Requirements:
- Coding Clarified will provide clear guidance on the system requirements for accessing online training programs. This includes technical support for participants who experience difficulties in accessing the online platform.

Accommodations for Disabilities:Participants must request accommodations at least 72 hours in advance of the scheduled training or session.
- Participants with disabilities will be provided with reasonable accommodations to access and participate in online training. This includes but is not limited to:
- Providing accessible materials (e.g., screen reader-compatible documents, audio descriptions).
- Offering closed captioning or sign language interpreters for virtual meetings or sessions.
- Allowing extra time for assignments or exams if needed.
- Diverse Learning Needs:
- Coding Clarified will offer alternative learning resources or formats for participants who may require them, such as video tutorials, interactive learning tools, and one-on-one support from instructors or mentors.
- Equal Access to Support Services:
- All participants will have equal access to support services, including career counseling, job placement assistance, and any additional resources provided by Coding Clarified, regardless of their background or protected status.
- Program Participation:
- Participants are encouraged to fully engage in all training activities. This includes attending virtual meetings, completing assignments on time, and engaging in online discussions or group activities. Those requiring additional support to meet participation requirements should contact the designated support coordinator for assistance.

Coding Clarified Affirmative Outreach Policy Policy Statement:
Coding Clarified is committed to ensuring equal access to its programs, training, and services for all individuals, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, political affiliation or belief, and for beneficiaries, citizenship or participation in WIOA-funded programs. This policy outlines the organization’s commitment to proactive outreach efforts to identify and engage underrepresented and underserved populations in compliance with 29 CFR 38.40.
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that Coding Clarified takes affirmative steps to reach and include individuals from groups that have historically experienced barriers to equal opportunity in workforce development programs. This policy applies to all Coding Clarified programs, including but not limited to, training, recruitment, student support services, and employment assistance.
Coding Clarified will identify and conduct outreach to ensure equal access for the following groups:
- Women and minorities
- Individuals with disabilities
- Individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP)
- Individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds
- Older individuals seeking workforce training
- Individuals facing barriers to employment, such as ex-offenders or long-term unemployed individuals
To ensure equitable access, Coding Clarified will implement the following strategies:
- Partner with local organizations that serve underrepresented populations, including community centers, disability advocacy groups, minority-serving institutions, and workforce development boards.
- Establish relationships with employers who prioritize diversity and inclusion in their hiring practices.
- Develop and distribute marketing materials in multiple languages to reach diverse populations.
- Use culturally inclusive messaging in promotional materials and advertisements.
- Utilize multiple outreach channels, including social media, community newsletters, job fairs, and public service announcements.
- Ensure all promotional and educational materials are available in accessible formats for individuals with disabilities (e.g., large print, screen-reader compatible documents, video captions).
- Provide interpretation and translation services for students and applicants who require language assistance.
- Collect demographic data on program participants to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
- Conduct periodic reviews of enrollment and participation rates among underrepresented groups.
- Adjust outreach strategies based on data analysis to improve inclusivity and participation.
- The Director of Coding Clarified (or designated Equal Opportunity Officer) will oversee the implementation and monitoring of this policy.
- Staff will receive training on affirmative outreach principles and strategies to ensure compliance with 29 CFR 38.40.
- Complaints related to discrimination or lack of access will be handled through Coding Clarified’s established grievance procedures.

Coding Clarified Complaint Procedure Policy Statement:
Coding Clarified is committed to ensuring that all students, employees, and participants in its programs have the right to file complaints regarding discrimination or noncompliance with equal opportunity requirements under 29 CFR 38.72-73. This procedure establishes a formal process for filing, investigating, and resolving complaints in compliance with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) nondiscrimination provisions.
This complaint procedure applies to any individual who believes they have been subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, political affiliation or belief, and citizenship or participation in a WIOA-funded program. This includes students, applicants, employees, and other program participants.
- Any individual who believes they have been subjected to unlawful discrimination or denied equal opportunity may file a complaint.
- Complaints must be filed within 180 days of the alleged discriminatory act unless extended for good cause by the Civil Rights Center (CRC) of the U.S. Department of Labor.
A complaint may be filed in writing or verbally with the designated Equal Opportunity (EO) Officer at Coding Clarified. The complaint should include:
- Complainant’s name, contact information, and signature.
- Name of the individual or entity the complaint is against.
- Description of the alleged discrimination, including dates, locations, and any witnesses.
- Any supporting documentation or evidence.
- Desired resolution or outcome.

Upon receipt of a complaint, the following steps will be taken:
- The complainant will receive a written acknowledgment within 10 business days of the complaint’s receipt, including confirmation of whether it is accepted for investigation.
- Before proceeding with a formal investigation, Coding Clarified may offer an informal resolution process if both parties agree.
- If informal resolution is unsuccessful, the formal investigation will proceed.
- An impartial investigator will be assigned to review the complaint.
- Both the complainant and respondent will have the opportunity to present evidence and witnesses.
- The investigation will be completed within 90 days of the complaint’s filing date.
- A written notice of the determination, including findings and any corrective action, will be provided to the complainant and respondent.
- If the complainant is dissatisfied with the resolution, they have the right to appeal to the Civil Rights Center (CRC) within 30 days of receiving the determination.
- Appeals must include a copy of the original complaint, the determination, and reasons for the appeal.
- The CRC will review the appeal and issue a decision within 60 days of receipt.
- All complaints will be handled with strict confidentiality.
- Retaliation against any individual for filing a complaint or participating in an investigation is strictly prohibited.
- Any retaliation allegations will be investigated as a separate violation.
- Coding Clarified will maintain all complaint records, including investigations and resolutions, for at least three (3) years.
- Data will be reviewed periodically to ensure compliance with equal opportunity requirements.
