Gain Your Medical Coding Certification in South Carolina

Are you seeking additional income opportunities or looking for a career change with the flexibility to work from home? If you’re looking for medical coding schools in South Carolina, Coding Clarified should be at the top of your list.
While many schools will combine medical billing and coding, we are dedicated to helping medical coders pass the AAPC exam, get certified, and provide them with internships that give them the experience and confidence to start their new careers. While medical billers and coders work closely together in the healthcare industry, the two jobs are very different.
At Coding Clarified, we’ve collaborated with the American Academy of Professional Coders, creating a curriculum to help you pass your exam and turn you into a certified coding specialist. It is a completely online program, meaning you can study at your pace, any time of day, no matter where you are–including South Carolina.
Understanding Medical Coding in South Carolina
Medical coding is the backbone of the healthcare industry. It involves translating medical diagnoses, procedures, and services into universal alphanumeric codes for billing and health insurance claim purposes. By accurately coding medical records, coders ensure that healthcare providers receive proper reimbursement and maintain accurate patient records.
Once the procedure, consult, or any other kind of visit has been coded, it is sent on to the billing side. These are the people responsible for submitting claims, creating invoices, and working with patients on payment plans if necessary. So while billing and coding professionals are linked, the two jobs are quite different.
