Gain medical coding experience in Emergency Department Coding through us and lots of practice. You will learn the following and need your own set of current years books or encoderpro.com or codify from AAPC.com to appropriately code the medical records.

You have one year from the date of signup and if more time is needed you repay again for the course access.

  • Internship charts – there are 2,000 charts that include the chart documentation and an audit sheet. The charts are broken down in the following manner:
    • AMA, LWBS, 99024 (post op visits) – 100 charts total
    • ED E/M levels 99281 – 99282 – 300 charts

    • ED E/M level 99283 – 400 charts

    • ED E/M level 99284 – 400 charts
    • ED E/M level 99285 – 400 charts
    • Critical Care – 100 charts
    • Procedure only – 300 charts
  • The ED E/M level visits will have both E/M only visits as well as E/M with procedure visits to code.

    The following items need to be abstracted on each chart:

    • Disposition
    • E/M code with any applicable modifier(s)

    • CPT code(s) with any applicable modifier(s)

    • Diagnosis code(s) – up to 12
    • The responsible provider
    • Scribe involvement
    • Resident/medical student involvement
    • Split/shared visit
  • Final assessment 95% Minimum Passing
